The SOCOM 16 features a 16 inch barrel mated to the gas system with a proprietary muzzle brake, ensuring a low recoil system in a .308 package. The muzzle brake reduces felt recoil and keeps muzzle rise flat, increasing the speed of follow-up shots. The front sight features an XS Tritium insert, combined with an enlarged ghost ring rear sight gives you quick target acquisition in almost any lighting conditions. A "scout" picatinny rail mount gives the ability to mount rail-mountable optics.
